OUR MUSIC

Music is essential to Lutheran worship. Martin Luther wrote, “next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world.”

The Zion Music programs welcome all people of all levels to join our choirs. We have returned to our beloved church building and are currently playing one verse with all your favorite hymns in the service (masked and humming). We have two ensembles, the Chapel Choir and the Zion Ringers. Both groups rehearse once a week on Thursday evenings and perform once a month in church and special services. No special skills are needed to participate in Zion Ringers, the bell choir; just come and have a good time playing the delightful sound. There are no prerequisites for singing in the choir, but staying on pitch and reading music is a plus.

Currently, we are using the hymns from the Lutheran Book of Worship and With One Voice and enjoying the traditional organ sound or piano in all our services. Still, we intend to include many styles of music as we move forward with our new post-pandemic vision.
