Don't Skip to Ende of the Story

When you read a good book, are you tempted to skip ahead to the end?

Holy Week offers that temptation.  We sometimes think of skipping Maundy (or Holy) Thursday and Good Friday services.

We go from Palm Sunday straight to Easter.  Or, just to Easter which is why the resurrection often doesn't have much meaning.

For me, skipping Thursday and Friday (especially Friday) has always seemed like cutting out the heart of the story.  Or watching the sunrise without experiencing the darkness which preceded it. God's love for us and Jesus' humanity shows up on Thursday and Friday of Holy Week.  Both nights are about complex emotions, sacrificial love and choices we make.

All of our services this week are special and unique.  The attached flyer gives details.  ALL of the services will be livestreamed if you cannot come or prefer not to drive at night.   That being said, IF you can come (or if you want a ride*), the Thursday and Friday services are best experienced in person.

We hope to see you and to worship God alongside you!

In the amazing loving of our Lord,

Pastor Elaine
